The Pembroke area is rightly proud of its outstanding local schools. From the Elementary and Middle schools with over 2,000 students, to its High school with over 1,500 students, Pembroke’s five local schools provide the foundation for bright futures and successful careers. Pembroke Elementary, Union Chapel Elementary and Pembroke Middle continue making great strides in service to their students, with their progressive educational programs. Purnell Swett High offers stimulating curriculum, activities and athletic programs, which challenge young adults to exceed their expectations.
 

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke

The area’s local colleges provide high quality educational services, with a personal touch. The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has enjoyed steady growth in the past 20 years, and serves approximately 3,000 students with world-class class offerings in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Robeson Community College located in Lumberton, and other regional community colleges, provide specialized and technical educational services to meet the needs of expanding business, industry and service organizations in the area.
